The government of Bangladesh cuts the prices of fuel oil

The federal government has cut the prices of octane and petroleum by Tk 10 a litre and diesel and kerosene by Tk 3 per litre to complete on to consumers the benefit for low fuel prices on the international market.
The price reduction would take effect at night time, Nasrul Hamid, state ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) for power, energy and mineral resources, told reporters at the secretariat last week.The ministry issued a notice to this impact.The price of diesel-powered and kerosene has recently been reduced to Tk 66 from Tk 68 a litre, octane to Tk 89 from Tk 99 and petrol to Tk 86 from Tk ninety six. On March 31, the us government cut the price of furnace oil, mostly employed by industries and power vegetation, by more than 31 percent to Tk 40 a litre. The costs of diesel, petrol and octane were not adjusted in those days.
The cut came following the finance ministry sent a proposal to the energy ministry to slash the prices of octane, gasoline, diesel and kerosene.The finance ministry proposed slicing the prices of octane and petrol by 12-15 percent and that of diesel and kerosene by 25 percent.
Yesterday's slice was part of a government want to reduce the fuel prices in 3 phases, according to energy ministry officials.
